As founder and CEO of Welcome Home Ministries (WHM), Carmen has been a leader in the jail/prison re-entry movement since 1996. Welcome Home Ministries is one of the country's first peer-driven, re-entry, faith-based programs for women. Under Carmen’s direction, WHM has established a 10-Step Re-entry Model which is being replicated both nationally and internationally.

Carmen, a master prepared nurse, as been a publishing consultant since 1973, and was the instigator of 11 peer-reviewed professional journal articles relating to women, re-entry, mental health, and ethical considerations of the model. For more than 35 years, Carmen's enthusiasm and expertise have played multiple roles in the publishing arena, including publisher/co-publisher for two healthcare companies prior to creating the concept for Restorative Press.

With her M.Div., and as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, Carmen has taken an active role in policy change and program development for incarcerated women, beginning in San Diego and spreading throughout the country. With the collaboration of Wheaton College and the Christian Association of Prison Aftercare (CAPA), Carmen has proposed the establishment of a national certification program for re-entry personnel, which is in its second year of implementation. She brings this expertise to Restorative Press as a consultant for their training curriculum.

Carmen established Restorative Press for the purpose of focusing on issues of renewal, restoration, and rebuilding of lives debilitated by trauma, for it
is imperative to bring wings of hope for a future through the printed word.

Ann Aubrey Hanson has been a writer and editor for two decades, working in the fields of journalism, academics, and publishing. For ten years, she served as writer, associate editor, and editor of "The Southern Cross," the Catholic newspaper of San Diego. During her time at "The Southern Cross," she won numerous top journalism awards, both locally and nationally.

Ann teaches fiction writing at the University of San Diego, Extension, and runs an on-going memoir writing workshop in Rancho Bernardo.

As a writer, Ann writes textbooks (for St. Mary's Press) and non-fiction books, as well as mystery fiction. As an editor, she edits books for scholars, doctors, ethicists, mystery writers, memoir writers, and anyone else who seeks top-notch editing and critical feedback.

At Restorative Press, Ann offers her talents both as writer and as editor, helping authors to prepare their books for publication.

Marketing Director: Leslie Emmanuel

Leslie Emmanuel has 18 years of experience working in marketing, public relations, and communications. She has worked as either project manager or consultant on numerous multi-million-dollar marketing campaigns, including Native American Community Development Projects, San Diego Padres, and both the City and County of San Diego governments. Leslie served as a private consultant to the City of San Diego's Mayor's Office as a primary media consultant and was project manager for their extensive pollution-prevention marketing campaign throughout San Diego. Leslie also provided public relations, branding, publication, and editing services for both the City and San Diego County government agencies.

Leslie has also worked as a private planning and marketing consultant on numerous non-profit projects, such as the Sundt Memorial Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundations, Boys and Girls Club, Tour de Cure for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and dozens more.

Leslie received her college education from Syracuse University and finished her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Phoenix in 1998. Leslie is devoted to the Lord and has a wondeful family that includes three children. Leslie enjoys travelling with her family and strongly believes in serving the Lord by serving the needs of others.
