Restorative Press is a publisher of books that recount God’s gift of grace in the lives of women who were broken by life and mended by God’s love. We publish books about these lives and how those lives were redeemed and renewed -- stories of healing. Through this healing, families have been rebuilt and lives have been refocused on God and on responding to His call to give back to the world in His grace.
Restorative Press is an offshoot of Welcome Home Ministries, an organization founded by Rev. Carmen Warner-Robbins to help those women who find themselves in jail or prison without hope for the future. Through the ministry of Welcome Home, these women at last have a hand extended to help them take the first steps towards wholeness and self-sufficiency. In the past two decades, a multitude of women have been restored to health in mind, heart, and body, and have, in turn, reached out to others who suffer as they suffered. This is the success of Welcome Home Ministries. These are the stories we need to publish.
There are many people who have been traumatized and go on with their lives and become successful. But there is still a need for healing. There are people who carry it and bury it, but true healing requires that they break down those barriers. Only then is deep healing possible. Once healed, they can reach out and help others.
Restorative Press publishes these stories in order to end the oppression of silence and shame, giving voice to their pain, not only to help them to heal but to heal others. Through their stories, they model survival and triumph to show others that they, too, can survive and triumph.
The books we publish include stories of survival and triumph as well as primers and training tools for developing peer-driven help programs similar to Welcome Home Ministries.
